Operation Christmas Child - Nov. 5 and 12
Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse, an international Christian relief and evangelism organization headed by Franklin Graham. The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world, and together with the local church worldwide, to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. Since 1993, Operation Christmas Child has collected and delivered more than 146 million gift-filled shoeboxes to children in more than 150 countries and territories. For many of these children, the gift-filled shoebox is the first gift they have ever received.
Bring your packed shoebox to LCC on November 5th and 12th. We'll have a table in the lobby.

Honduras Trip - Feb. 10-17
Be thinking about joining a group of LCCers headed to Honduras February 10-17, 2018 as we partner with Allen and Trish Sowers and the ministry they have there. We have your backpacks in boxes ready to be delivered to the children this February for the start of their school year. We’ll be handing out the backpacks and you’ll have a chance to personally meet the children you’ve sponsored.
I’m interested! Send me more information.
Sponsor a Child in Honduras
We’ve had an amazing response from our LCC Family members who currently sponsor children in Honduras. If you’re curious about the sponsorship or would like to sponsor a child yourself, head over here for more information.
We have partnered with Allen and Trish Sowers in Honduras as they train local pastors and support the local schools. Look for ways throughout the year you can specifically help out with their ministry. And stay up to day with all that goes on with Sowers4Pastors over on their blog.
Mike Miller: El Salvador (10/22-10/29)
Mike is headed to San Salvador, El Salvador, on Oct 22nd with a group called Mission to the World (MTW), which is the group the Millers frequently travel with to the Philippines. They're planning on working with the local churches in setting up medical clinics in poor communities, with the ultimate goal of sharing the Gospel and getting people plugged into the local church.
Prayer requests: team unity, effectiveness in reaching the people with the Gospel, and having a real love for the people that they work with.
Brenda Artrip: Bangui, Central African Republic (recap)
Hallie - West Africa
Hallie works for a large missions organization, and travels frequently around the world working with unreached people groups--people who have never had the chance to hear about Jesus. She engages them by teaching them to develop 42 oral Bible stories in their heart language, and trains them to use the stories in a multiplying ministry of evangelism, discipleship, and church planting. Everyone loves a good story, and these stories change lives!
In November, she will be traveling to West Africa to work with the "Gold" people group, and she will also be responsible for training two new American trainers while there.
How you can pray: that she would train them well, that the Gold people would really embrace the stories, and that this project would launch a large movement among this people group of a million people.
